My name is John Nguyen. I’m a ux designer and front-end developer at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and happily living in Chicago, IL.
I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2012 with a Master of Architecture. Shortly after a month of transitioning, I moved to Chicago to explore the Mid-West. When not in my creative meditation, I'm striving to be the next Iron Chef in my home kitchen (I'm up for a good cook off and some fun any time!).
Currently, I am accepting work for January 2014. If you are interested in learning more about hiring me, collaborating with me, or just getting in touch with me, please feel free to drop a line.
Designing and living are my passions. They are my lifestyle. Anything that I encounter—whether it's the space I live or work in, the tools I use, the books I read—I think of ways either to improve it or how it can improve me. To others this way of thinking may come as being overly obsessive, but to me it is normal. At the end of the day, my encounters with the world affect me.
I believe design needs to be honest in intention and truthful in capability, all while not praising itself nor making itself known.
